Watch the Video for New Single ‘Another Day Another Abyss’

McNerney introduces Scorpion Milk’s dystopian vision with a haunting new single, “Another Day Another Abyss,” out now with an AI-generated video.

“The only way to get through the abyss is to become it.” – Mat McNerney

Dark, distorted, and deeply personal, the track dives into the psychological weight of modern catastrophe—and the ways we internalize it. The video was built using AI to mirror the song’s themes of technology, alienation, and surreal horror.

New Album Info

McNerney is no stranger to the shadows, having helped shape modern dark rock with Beastmilk’s Climax and three Grave Pleasures records. With Scorpion Milk, he delivers a more direct and volatile blend of post-punk, drawing on anarcho, goth, and industrial influences. Think Killing Joke, Crass, and The Fall, with a modern edge for fans of Health, Soft Kill, and Molchat Doma.

Slime of the Times also features:

  • Tor Sjödén (Viagra Boys) on drums
  • Nate Newton (Converge, Cave In) on bass
  • Big Paul Ferguson (Killing Joke) as guest
  • Will Gould (Creeper) guest vocals on “She Wolf of London”

The record was produced by McNerney in Finland, mixed in London by Wayne Adams (Bear Bites Horse), and mastered at Abbey Road Studios. Artwork is by Danu Bharatu (Uniform, Wolfbrigade), capturing the record’s harsh, expressive energy.

“We’re living inside the very dystopia we fear the most.” – Mat McNerney
